Lesley Chew Wey-Lyn
Occupational Therapist
“Hi, I’m Lesley, a paediatric occupational therapist at KidzOTC.
At the heart of what I do is a simple belief: every child deserves to experience the world in a way that feels engaging and successful—whatever ‘success’ may look like for them.
My sessions are grounded in curiosity, humour, and purposeful play. Whether we’re singing through a transition, sketching favourite characters, or building a new routine together, my focus is always on helping a child feel safe, accepted, and capable.”

Lesley holds a Diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education, where she was selected for the competitive Early Intervention track, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Occupational Therapy.
She has supported children and young people with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD
- Sensory processing differences
- Dyspraxia / Developmental Coordination Disorder
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder
- Anxiety and learning challenges
Her experience ranges from helping toddlers engage in routines to supporting adolescents and young adults through academic and vocational transitions. She is especially skilled in emotional regulation, social interaction, handwriting, and motor skill development.
Lesley integrates evidence-based approaches tailored to each child’s strengths and interests, including:
- Sensory Processing & Modulation
- DIR/Floortime
- Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP)
- Social Thinking
- Astronaut Training
- Interactive Metronome
- Handwriting Without Tears
- Social-Emotional Learning principles
- Therapeutic Listening (continuing study)
She also places strong emphasis on partnering with parents so that progress continues beyond the therapy room.
“What inspires me most is the courage I see in children every day.
I’ve worked with a preschooler who once struggled to sit for even a short task—and, within months, saw him confidently joining classroom routines. I’ve supported a 10-year-old who grew from frustration and disengagement to calmly expressing his ideas and tackling challenges with strategy and confidence.
These moments stay with me—not just for the skills gained, but for the bravery it took each child to try again. My role is to walk alongside families in these moments—encouraging, celebrating, and reminding them that progress is always possible, one step at a time.”
Outside of therapy, Lesley enjoys singing, playing the guitar, writing songs, drawing, and sports—she was even a volleyball captain in school! These passions often find their way into her sessions, turning music, art, and movement into powerful tools for engagement and learning.
