Gwee Gin Jen
Occupational Therapist
“Hello, I’m Gin Jen, a paediatric occupational therapist at Kidz Occupational Therapy Consultants.
My journey into this field began during a gap-year internship at Pathlight School, where I had the chance to work with children who experience and interact with the world in wonderfully different ways. That experience shaped everything that followed. It showed me how meaningful it can be to walk alongside children and their families—helping them grow in ways that feel right for them, and reassuring parents that they are never alone in this journey.
With a background in behaviour therapy and a Diploma in Psychology, I went on to pursue a degree in Occupational Therapy. Since then, I have supported children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Sensory Processing Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), developmental delays, and learning difficulties.
What keeps this work meaningful for me is that no two children are the same—and that means no two sessions are either.
Many of the children who come into therapy are carrying more than just their challenges. Some feel anxious or unsure, some struggle to sit still, while others are just trying to make sense of a world that can feel too loud or too fast. My role is to meet them right where they are. Sometimes, that means working on handwriting or fine motor coordination. Other times, it is about slowing down, focusing on emotional regulation, or helping a child feel safe and in control.
I draw from a range of approaches—Sensory Integration, DIR/Floortime, Social Thinking, and Interactive Metronome—to tailor each session to your child’s unique needs and strengths.
More than anything, I believe therapy should make sense to both the child and their family. That is why I work closely with parents to help you understand your child’s world—what helps them stay calm, what brings them joy, and what might be getting in the way of their learning or everyday life.
I may not always have the answers right away, but I will always be committed to walking this path with you, step by step, with empathy, curiosity, and care.
Training and Certifications:

I continue to deepen my approach through ongoing training—because every child deserves support that is not only evidence-based, but also personal, compassionate, and just right for who they are.”
